As it always seems to be the case, the Packers barely escaped the trip to Florida, edging out a 30-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars thanks to yet another Brandon McManus game-winning field goal.
The offense was a bit clunky throughout, but big name players made big name plays.
Jordan and I talked it over and handed out three cheeses this week so without further adieu…

Week 8 Cheeses
🧀 Josh Jacobs 🧀
Some data.
Packers run blocking? A solid "eh.”
Now, look at this stat:
Despite what confirmed goofball Bill Barnwell will tell you, Josh Jacobs has been pretty darn good this season despite having subpar run blocking in front of him. He is 4th in the NFL in rushing yards and 5th in all purpose yards. He’s only got four touchdowns on the year, but scoring two of those on Sunday including an absolutely special 38-yard touchdown run earned the Packers star running back a cheese.
🧀 Tucker Kraft 🧀
The Tucker Kraft experience has been on a U.S. tour this month putting up special performances in both LA and Jacksonville. Kraft’s emergence has been fueled by the fact that he is seemingly always open and in the right spot just when the Packers needed. His 50-yard gain to put the Packers in scoring position was a needed jolt and his leak-out touchdown later in the game showcased just how useful he is both blocking and pass catching. He’s going to be a guy to keep on an eye on when all-pro teams are named at the end of the season.
🧀 Edgerrin Cooper 🧀
The reigning NFC defensive player of the week is shaping up to be a real find for the Packers in the 2024 draft. I — and others — had doubts about how Edgerrin Cooper’s game would translate to the NFL out of Texas A&M, but thankfully, Cooper seems to be acclimating to the game nicely. He has Packers fans practically begging the coaching staff to give him more snaps and be the starter and solidified number 2 next to Quay Walker. He’s third among rookie linebackers in tackles this year and his crucial forced fumble sack on Trevor Lawrence proved critical in the Packers’ win. As such, he earns his second cheese of the year.
