Not exactly an inspiring game from the Packers as they lose to the Chicago Bears on a game-winning field goal from Cairo Santos as time expired at home. To make matters worse, Jordan Love only plays half the game and Christian Watson leaves the game with a torn ACL.
Suffice to say there wasn’t a whole lot to be excited about so only three candidates this week, all of whom will earn their cheese.
Week 18 Candidates
Edgerrin Cooper: 7 tackles (4 solo), 1 TFL, 1 QB hit, 1 fumble recovery, 76.2 PFF grade (highest on defense)
Carrington Valentine: 4 tackles (3 solo), targeted 2 times for 2 catches, 17 total yards, 74.7 PFF grade.
Emanuel Wilson: 14 carries, 73 yards, 1 rushing TD, 5.2 yards per carry. (85.7 PFF grade)
Week 18 Cheeses
🧀 Emanuel Wilson 🧀
I am enjoying the fact that I get to take this long a victory lap on Emanuel Wilson. The second-year, former undrafted free agent as outperformed expectations and given the backup RB spot some juice after years of being subjected to AJ Dillon’s lackluster performance. Among qualifying RBs ( guys who have played 20% of the max carries this year, 345) Emanuel Wilson is the 8th highest graded back by PFF, sandwiched between Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie back Bucky Irving and Carolina Panthers veteran back Chuba Hubbard. Josh Jacobs has been a revelation this season for the Packers, but Emanuel Wilson has been critical in their success as well as a quality, change of pace and forceful back.
🧀 Carrington Valentine 🧀
Another week, another performance of Carrington Valentine holding a team’s top WR to minimal production. Valentine was primarily on DJ Moore and was only targeted twice — both Moore — and held him to 17 yards total. He’ll have a tough matchup in the playoffs, but he is developing more as a guy the Packers can rely on in the future.
