Rodgers, Packers beat themselves in embarrassing loss to the Lions
McCarthy returns to Lambeau to face Pack with Cowboy company
That was ugly.
A 15-9 loss to the now 2-6 Detroit Lions.
An to add injury to insult, the Packers racked up a substantial injury report after playing on Ford Field. Rashan Gary, Romeo Doubs and Eric Stokes all had significant injuries that have them out for the next few weeks at least.
Aaron Jones got hurt midway through the game which made the Packers go one dimensional and let the Rodgers try to win the game.
As you’re about to read, that plan worked out horrifically.
The Cheeseboard 🧀
Aaron Rodgers 🤢🧀
I take no pride in handing out Talk of the Tundra’s first ever Limburger cheese as part of our cheeseboard. But if there was ever a time for it, it’s now. Aaron Rodgers had his worst game in years. Three interceptions, all on horrendous throws. He couldn’t put the ball on his receivers hands or at chest-level and was passing over wide-open receivers all week. He coincidentally had the most pass yards in a game this season, but his poor decision making and general inability to make the throws last week led to an abysmal nine-point performance against the league’s worst defense.

Preview of Packers-Cowboys, score predictions
A historic rivalry is renewed this Sunday as the Packers face off against the Dallas Cowboys as former Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy returns to Lambeau for the first time since being fired in the 2018 season.
He returns flanked by a team with Super Bowl hopes as the team is full of talent including Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliot, CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs.
The Cowboys mirror the Packers in many ways one of which includes a scary secondary that can turn games at times. Much like the Packers, the Cowboys defense gives up a lot of yards in the running game mostly because teams run more against them to avoid throwing against Trevon Diggs and company.
Dallas has allowed 1,081 rushing yards this season, 166 fewer than the Packers have, but in one less game. This opens the door of opportunity for Matt LaFleur to utilize his star running back Aaron Jones as a featured part of this week’s game plan. Here’s to hoping though.
Another prominent thread in this week’s game is going to be the injury report. As of writing this, there were 17 players on the report including Rashan Gary, who suffered a season-ending ACL injury against the Lions last week; Eric Stokes, who is unlikely to play this week as the Packers seek a second opinion on his knee and ankle injuries; and Romeo Doubs who is slated to be out 4-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain.
If the Packers can’t have their top players on the field this week — such as David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins, Rasul Douglas, Allen Lazard or Aaron Jones — the game will be as good as over as the ball is kicked off to start the game.
Aaron Rodgers also needs to have a bounce back game if the Packers are looking to stop this five-game losing streak. If he plays like he did last week against this Cowboys defense. It could get ugly for him. He’ll need to be more accurate and keep the ball at a catchable height for his receivers vs. the low throws that plagued him last week.
Selfishly, I want to see what Samori Toure can do this week. In the last two games, he has shown a propensity for getting open during Rodgers’ patented scramble drills and has one circus catch that extended the last drive in the Lions game. I think he could be a playmaker in the making if given the right opportunities.
Players to watch:
Numac: Samori Toure
Jordan: Aaron Rodgers
Score predictions:
Numac: 31-14 Cowboys
Jordan: 35-10 Cowboys
