PODCAST: Tier listing the entire Milwaukee Bucks preseason roster.
On the latest Gyro Step, we ranked every Buck from number 20 to Giannis.
There is less than one week left until the 2021-22 NBA season starts, which means there is less than one week left in the Bucks title defense preseason. Before the remaining non-guaranteed guys get waived (as our podcast hero Johnny O’Bryant sadly did) Rohan Katti and I decided to go through all 20 rostered Bucks and sort them into tiers. We also ranked them within those tiers, for a bit of extra debate.
Shockingly, after I sorted a dozen or so teams into seven tiers before the playoffs last year, Rohan ended up with one more tier than I did in this exercise. Our top three players is the most boring part, but it’s always fun to talk about Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday, so at least there’s that.
Despite not sharing our tiers and rankings with each other before the podcast, Rohan and I ended up mostly aligned, with some small changes. Our biggest disagreements were, somehow: Jemerrio Jones, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis, and Grayson Allen. I won’t say who was higher or where we ended up placing those players though — you’ll have to listen for that!
