PODCAST: Reevaluating the Milwaukee Bucks roster
It's been a busy week of moves, so we ran through them and looked at where we stand now on the Gyro Step.
The Milwaukee Bucks have had a wild week, so we sat down for a fresh Gyro Step podcast late on Sunday to make sense of all that's happened. We started off by looking through Milwaukee's lengthy injury report, which now includes Giannis Antetokounmpo, Grayson Allen, and George Hill as well as unfortunate stalwarts Brook Lopez, Donte DiVincenzo, and Semi Ojeleye.
Later, we got into the more fun part of the episode: the newly signed Bucks players. In addition to vets Wes Matthews and DeMarcus Cousins (aka Boogie!), we also spent some time evaluating the first NBA game for Javonte Smart, Milwaukee’s newest two-way player.
All three of Wes, Boogie, and Smart played in Milwaukee's blowout win against the Miami Heat, so we’ve got recent tape to discuss for the whole group. The early results are positive for each of them!
Finally, we both shared what we expect Milwaukee's playoff rotation to look like if the team can actually be healthy by then. There are obviously lots of similarities, but we have some different ideas about which fringe rotation guys will get minutes and which won’t. Of course, all of this will be moot as soon as Jon Horst makes another roster move!
Thanks so much as always for reading, and for listening. As we say near the end of every episode, make sure you’re subscribed on your podcast platform of choice (including YouTube!) even if you’re also subscribed here so you don’t miss any podcast goodness. Links to all platforms can be found here.
