PODCAST: Donte gets traded to the Kings after all
The Bucks got Serge Ibaka and added flexibility as the NBA went crazy before the trade deadline.
The Milwaukee Bucks, after trying and failing previously, finally succeeded in trading Donte DiVincenzo to the Sacramento Kings in a four-team deal that netted Serge Ibaka, two second round picks, and two roster spots, as Rodney Hood and Semi Ojeleye were sent out as well.
The entire Gyro Step Podcast Network crew analyzed the deal and covered the biggest stories across the NBA at the trade deadline on a special live podcast via the GSPN YouTube (which you should subscribe to!). Our Bucks analysis boiled down to liking the move for a few different reasons, even if it wasn’t exactly a blockbuster.
We covered several of the big trades made that day, including the James Harden for Ben Simmons swap, which we spent the most time on outside of Bucks matters. There was time made to laugh at the Dallas Mavericks too though.
In addition to trades, when the deadline passed without any more players heading to Milwaukee we looked at Bucks buyout options. There are lots of potential options, including Eric Bledsoe, Gary Harris, Dennis Schroder, and Goran Dragic.
Whatever the Bucks end up doing, you’ll find analysis here at GSPN — subscribe here on Substack, on YouTube, and of course on your podcast platform of choice.
