PODCAST: Breaking down Bucks vs Nets with Matt Brooks
This rivalry matchup on ring night deserves a whole 90 minute podcast.
The Milwaukee Bucks are back in action tonight as they take on Kevin Durant, James Harden, and the Brooklyn Nets to kick off the NBA season, and after the highly anticipated ring night ceremonies there's going to be some epic basketball played between these two teams.
To that end, Rohan Katti and I collaborated with Matt Brooks, host of The Clear Out podcast covering all things Nets on the Blue Wire podcast network and a writer covering the team for Nets Daily, to break down basically everything about these two teams.
We basically took turns lobbing questions and topics at each other, with much of the conversation framing these two teams overall and then some on how this particular game would go (including Rohan’s dreaded call for score predictions). Milwaukee’s injuries, especially to frontcourt players, will definitely be a factor, but this still has the makings of another compelling chapter in a great Bucks/Nets rivalry.
We spent a lot of time on how Milwaukee and Brooklyn have changed since their intense seven-game series, including how both teams sort of reacted to their playoff battles in their approach to team-building over the offseason, how the teams match up against each other now, and how we think the game will go.
The ever-fun "does anything matter if Giannis Antetokounmpo's jumper turns out to be real" conversation snuck its way in there, as did some slight conversation about the Net-who-shall-not-be-named, which thankfully was mostly just bashing him. It's an enjoyable listen ahead of another clash between these two rivals.
