Green Bay Packers aim high for 2024 season
After last season's playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the young and talented Packers begin their journey to the promised land
The 2024 Green Bay Packers season is finally upon us as we are just mere hours away from the Packers opening their season against the Eagles down in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Another year comes with heightened expectations, even for the youngest team entering this NFL season. This year’s Packers roster aged out to an average of 25 years old – younger than even last year’s Packers team that marked the beginning of a rebuild after going all-in during Aaron Rodgers’ career twilight in Green Bay. While the vast majority of Packers are playing on their first contracts, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has built this year’s roster by enhancing on what was already built within the foundation.
The last time we saw the Packers on the field was on January 20, 2024, following a bitter 24-21 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round. For the first half of last season, no one could have imagined that Packers team rebounding in the second half of the season nor Jordan Love ascending to be one of the best quarterbacks down the stretch and willing the Packers to an unlikely playoff berth. It would have been even more astounding to imagine the Packers became the first 7-seed to win a Wild Card playoff game since the NFL expanded the playoff field ahead of the 2020 NFL season. That Packers team demolished the second-seeded Dallas Cowboys and even had a 21-14 lead over the 49ers midway through the third quarter six days later before the 49ers put it all together and conquered the Packers yet again in the playoffs.
