Bucks Stock Market: Stinker against the Spurs
The Bucks just didn't want the ball as they turn it over 19 times in their loss to the Spurs.
The Bucks Stock Market is a fictitious market run by the GSPN crew that tracks player stock “movement” following the conclusion of every game. Here’s the spreadsheet logging the game-by-game results.
At this point, the Milwaukee Bucks should be used to not having Jrue Holiday or Brook Lopez. To this point, Brook has only played in the season opener and Jrue has only played in one and a half games. When will they be back? Great question! The Bucks certainly will not give any sort of timeline, but we should all be used to that at this point. All of this to say that Milwaukee was once again short handed in their game against the Spurs on ring night for Bryn Forbes.
Semi Ojeleye📉
Okay, it had to be done. A down stock was not given after his last performance because the Bucks Stock Market employs a grace period coming back from injury, but my goodness is the offense not there. Certain people have said that Semi is capable of replicating Thanasis’ offensive output (*cough* *cough* Ti *cough*), but Semi has literally not scored a single point through two outings with the Bucks, and that has to change for him to claim a spot in Milwaukee’s rotation.
Khris Middleton📉
The last few games have not been pretty for Khris, and that trend did not change on Saturday. His shot just isn’t there right now. Going 6-16 from the field and 1-8 from three just is not a winning formula against a team as disciplined as San Antonio.
Giannis Antetokounmpo📈
Just like their last outing against the Timberwolves, it felt like Giannis was the only reason that Milwaukee had a shot at winning the game. Putting up 28 points on 11 of 15 from two-point range is just absurd, though the seven turnovers could be cleaned up.
Justin Robinson📈
I feel as if Justin Robinson has been under-appreciated so far this season, so I am giving him an up stock. As a two-way player, being asked to be the backup point guard on a contender is a tall task, but Robinson has been handling that fairly well, given how low expectations are for him. Against the Spurs, he did not miss either of his two attempts from three and is showing that he is more than capable of NBA minutes, and surely will tear up the G-League when the Wisconsin Herd open up their season.
The Milwaukee Bucks have their first back-to-back this season, as they will turn around and face the Utah Jazz on Halloween night at Fiserv Forum.
