Bucks Stock Market: Spellbinding play against the Wizards
Get it? Spellbinding? Like a Wizard's spell? I'll see myself out.
The Bucks Stock Market is a fictitious market run by the GSPN crew that tracks player stock “movement” following the conclusion of every game. Here’s the spreadsheet logging the game-by-game results.
The Milwaukee Bucks hosted the Washington Wizards on Thursday night for their last home game before a three-game road trip. Without Khris Middleton for the second straight game due to wrist soreness, the Bucks were even more depleted tonight as it was announced that Giannis Antetokounmpo was out due to knee soreness. However, Mike Budenhozler did say pre-game that he’s hopeful that Middleton will play in the teams next game on Saturday and Giannis will have a chance to play then as well, so it should not be anything to worry too much about. Even without the team’s top-two scorers, the Bucks were able to best Washington 114-102 due to incredible shooting and tight team defense. Let’s talk movements!
Grayson Allen📈
For the first time since December 17th, Grayson Allen scored more than 20 points in a game. This was a pretty one! Allen was aggressive in finding his shots both inside and outside, as he managed to go 5-7 from beyond the arc and 2-3 inside, including a tough runner over a 7’3” Kristaps Porzingis. Was this performance a result of two primary initiations in Khris and Giannis being out? Probably, but it’s still nice to see him rounding into form before the playoffs.
Pat Connaughton📈
Since returning from injury, Pat has shot 11-24 (45.8%) from deep, so it might be safe to say that not even surgery on his shooting hand can stop the flamethrower of a season that he is having. Connaughton had 16 points tonight on 8 shots, including 3-6 from deep and managed to get 6 free throw attempts. Planet Pat even managed to dish out 5 assists, as the Bucks needed some more playmakers. Connaughton is such an integral part of this team, and he showed how effective he can be in every facet of the game tonight.
The Milwaukee Bucks will head on the road and play the Ja Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, March 26th at 7:00pm central.
