Bucks Stock Market: Shining Under the Lights
In a game of ups and downs, the Milwaukee Bucks managed to come out on top.
The Bucks Stock Market is a fictitious market run by the GSPN crew that tracks player stock “movement” following the conclusion of every game. Here’s the spreadsheet logging the game-by-game results.
What a game that was! After amassing a lead as large as 24 points in the third quarter, the Bucks let the up-an-coming Knicks chip away at the lead till it was eventually a tie game late in the fourth. On a night where Giannis wasn’t having a great offensive performance and still without Brook Lopez, Khris Middleton, and Donte DiVincenzo, Milwaukee’s role players stepped up in a big way to lead this team to victory. Let’s get into the movements!
Bobby Portis📈
Facing his former team, Bobby Potus had a massive scoring punch for a team that needed it badly. In the first half, it felt like Portis was the only one who could get any sort of momentum going, and it’s that type of scoring potential that makes Portis so valuable to this team.
Pat Connaughton📈
He needs a new nickname. Vanilla Thunder, the only nickname currently listed for Pat on Basketball Reference, is great, but it does not fully capture the essence of Pat Connaughton. He is just a big time shot taker and big time shot maker coming off last season’s title run, and that was on full display against the Knicks. Leading the team in scoring, Connaughton is continuing to show why his jersey has a good chance to be up in the rafters when it’s all said and done.
Grayson Allen📈
Even when he doesn’t need to shoulder a massive scoring load, Allen just has a knack for being in the right spots to make plays. Also, can we appreciate just how pure his shooting stroke is? It’s been a while since the Bucks have had a silky smooth shooter who can also attack off the catch.
The Milwaukee Bucks will look to continue their winning ways on Friday, November 12th against the Boston Celtics.
