Bucks Stock Market: Pulverizing the Pacers
The Bucks bullied their way to victory against Malcolm Brogdon and the Pacers.
The Bucks Stock Market is a fictitious market run by the GSPN crew that tracks player stock “movement” following the conclusion of every game. Here’s the spreadsheet logging the game-by-game results.
The Milwaukee Bucks continued their stretch of dominance over the central division during Sunday pre-evening’s game against the Indiana Pacers. After the first quarter ended with the two teams tied at 26, the Bucks imposed themselves on the Pacers and took over the game which ended with Milwaukee winning by 18. Even though the Bucks were STRUGGLING from beyond the arc (8-35 for the game), Milwaukee managed to bully the Pacers down low and win the old fashioned way. Let’s talk movements!
Grayson Allen📈
After a few games of inefficient shooting, went 50% from three against the Pacers, but that was not the most excited aspect of his performance. He had four assists against Indiana, which is the second-most he’s had this season, only trailing the six he had in the opener against Brooklyn. With Khris back and Jrue finding himself, Grayson has seen his shot attempts decrease, which is why it’s nice to see him find other ways to contribute. By being able to improve his ability to find open guys, he’s just becoming even more of a weapon for when teams inevitably ignore him come playoff time to focus on the Bucks’ big three.
Mike Budenholzer📈
This up stock is one that has been coming over the last few games. With the team now 9-0 when Giannis, Khris, and Jrue play, some of that credit has to go to the coaching staff. However, there are more schematic trends recently that also contribute to this up stock. We have seen the Bucks play more and more defensive styles recently, leading up to this game against Indy where they employed at least three in one game! We saw traditional drop, high hedges, and (successful) zone, which is something we didn’t see a ton last regular season. We even saw the Bucks have a conscious effort to hunt Domantas Sabonis defensively, which is not something that we have seen in the past from a Budenholzer team.
The Milwaukee Bucks have their next game against the high-flying Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, December 1st at Fiserv Forum.
