Bucks Stock Market: Overcoming Washington's spell
They almost went full Bucks, but Milwaukee managed to get the win against the Wizards
The Bucks Stock Market is a fictitious market run by the GSPN crew that tracks player stock “movement” following the conclusion of every game. Here’s the spreadsheet logging the game-by-game results.
After getting trounced by the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, the Milwaukee Bucks welcomed the Bradley Beal-less Washington Wizards to town in what was set up to be a perfect palate cleanser for the Bucks. A bad team without their star? Should be food for this Milwaukee team who has been struggling to get wins lately. Well, it didn’t exactly go according to plan. After getting out to a sizable lead early on, the Bucks let the Wizards chip away and get back into it, with Washington even taking the lead at one point in the fourth quarter! However, Milwaukee still has that Giannis fellow, who just so happens to be good at basketball. Let’s talk movements!
Giannis Antetokounmpo📈
Like I mentioned, this guy is good at basketball. After not scoring in the first quarter and only having eight points at halftime, the reigning Finals MVP put up 25 points in the second half, including 11 points in the final eight minutes to put the game away. Giannis ended with 33 points, 15 rebounds, 11 assists, and 2 blocks, giving him his 29th career triple-double. That just so happens to be an NBA milestone, as that edged him past Michael Jordan for 18th all time in triple-doubles.
Grayson Allen📈
Grayson’s game has felt different recently, and that’s a good thing! He seems to be more involved in the offense, and is finding his scoring rhythm for early in the season. Against Washington, he had 10 points on 44.4% shooting (eh), but he was holding his own defensively, and was working well as a secondary decision maker, as evident by his six assists on the night.
Jrue Holiday📈
Efficient Jrue Holiday is the best Jrue Holiday. Tonight, Holiday had 22 points on 9-16 shooting from the field, including 4-5 from beyond the arc. Oh yeah, he also made Spencer Dinwiddie consider retirement to focus fully on his financial ventures. My goodness did Jrue have him in prison all night long. With Khris struggling as of late, it’s great to see Jrue continue to step-up as the second best player on the team.
The Bucks have a few days off before the start their west coast road trip, with their next game being on Saturday, February 5th at 9:00pm central against the Portland Trail Blazers.
