Bucks Stock Market: Milwaukee trounces Orlando again as a perfect homestand looms.
Either the Bucks are really awesome, the Magic is really terrible, or both. Probably both.
The Bucks Stock Market is a fictitious market run by the GSPN crew that tracks player stock “movement” following the conclusion of every game. Here’s the spreadsheet logging the game-by-game results.
The Milwaukee Bucks looked like the dominant team we know they can be on Monday night, as they took a huge lead in the first quarter of their second consecutive game against the Orlando Magic and never looked back. Orlando was shorthanded yet again, but still technically an NBA team, which means you’ve accomplished something impressive when you’re up 50+ points in the third quarter and Georgios Kalaitzakis gets to check in.
Jrue Holiday📈
This was a much needed offensive showcase from Jrue Holiday. He started off in the same state of being he’s occupied basically all season — cold — but heated up and ended up leading the Bucks’ balanced scoring with 18 points on 57% from the field and 40% from three. It wasn’t a perfect night by any means, including two bricked free throws, but just seeing Jrue look like himself again offensively was wonderful.
Pat Connaughton📈
Pat Connaughton is an Elite Role Player. I tweeted it from the Gyro Step account (which is worth a follow for sure) because I have convinced myself it is true. He was basically perfect in this game, hitting 6 of his 10 shots and 5 of his 7 threes to score 17 while adding 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, and 0 turnovers. Pat has fashioned himself into an ideal bench player for this Bucks team and definitely deserves Sixth Man of the Year buzz.
Bobby Portis📈
Speaking of players who deserve Sixth Man of the Year buzz on the Bucks, Bobby Portis has been outstanding over his last few games. Offense is usually Bobby’s forte, but it’s on the glass where his impact has really been felt on this winning streak: he’s posted double-doubles in three straight games, after only managing to pull down 10 or more rebounds twice over the course of the rest of the season. Playing bigger on the interior has paid dividends lately for a Bucks team that has really struggled there without Brook Lopez. Keep going beast mode, Bobby.
The last game of Milwaukee’s five-game homestand is on Wednesday, as the Bucks take on the Detroit Pistons. Be sure to check out the game before any Thanksgiving Eve shenanigans get too wild!
