Bucks Stock Market: Milwaukee avoids falling victim to Orlando's spell
Robin Lopez tried his best, but could not best the Bucks purely on hook shots.
The Bucks Stock Market is a fictitious market run by the GSPN crew that tracks player stock “movement” following the conclusion of every game. Here’s the spreadsheet logging the game-by-game results.
Following a thrilling comeback win against the Celtics on Christmas, the Milwaukee Bucks went on the road and faced off against the Orlando Magic. While the Bucks were only down one player (get well soon, Brook), the Magic were without 10 players due to injury and health and safety protocols. Even though some hot shooting from Orlando almost made it interesting at the end, this was a Milwaukee blowout from start to finish. Let’s talk movements!
Bobby Portis 📈
This game could have ended at halftime and Bobby still would have earned himself an up stock. He shot a perfect 5-5 from beyond the arc in the first amassing 17 points. The second half was a different story, as he only attempted one shot (which he made) to finish with 19 points and 7 rebounds. After coming off the bench on Christmas Day, Bobby looked great as he returned to his normal starting role. This also helped out DeMarcus Cousins, who looked much more comfortable as a reserve big.
George Hill 📈
George Hill has been the unsung hero of this Bucks season. In classic George Hill fashion, he isn’t going to wow you with flashy high-scoring performances or dazzling highlights, he is just going to be the ultimate calming presence. He truly is the weighted blanket of this roster, as he can just come into a game and make sure nothing gets out of hand. Against Orlando, Hill had only 8 points and 2 assists, but he did shoot 75% from the field and was 2-3 on threes while also doing all of the little things to steady the ship as the Magic were trying to mount a comeback.
The Milwaukee Bucks will stay in Florida for a few days as they will once again face the Orlando Magic on Thursday, December 30th at 6:00pm central.
