Bucks Stock Market: Chicago's revenge game falls short as the Bucks win again
Milwaukee has now won three straight games and is suddenly third in the East.
The Bucks Stock Market is a fictitious market run by the GSPN crew that tracks player stock “movement” following the conclusion of every game. Here’s the spreadsheet logging the game-by-game results.
The Chicago Bulls eagerly awaited Grayson Allen’s trip to Chicago as the Milwaukee Bucks rolled into town, but outside of a relatively mild flagrant foul via Derrick Jones Jr. the Bulls didn’t get much revenge at all as the Bucks won 118-112. Milwaukee extended its winning streak to three games with the victory, and the team seems to be finding a stride even though bad third quarters are back. There aren’t too many stock movements tonight since most of the team was simply quite good, although there are two exceptions to that.
Serge Ibaka 📉
First, the negative exception. Serge Ibaka has shown defensive upside in some of his minutes, but his offense has been streaky (to put it kindly) and he was not good at all against the Bulls. Ibaka missed all three of his shots, turned the ball over twice, and the Bucks lost his 12 minutes by 12 points. That’s extra tough to take in as DeMarcus Cousins shines in Denver.
Jrue Holiday 📈
Early against Chicago it looked like Jrue Holiday might be bound for a downstock too, but he got it together in a hurry and put together a beautiful, complete game against the Bulls. Holiday ended up with 26 points, 8 rebounds (4 offensive), 5 assists, and a block. He shot 10/20 from the field and 3/6 from deep while playing his typical suffocating defense. It sure is nice to have a Jrue Holiday on the Bucks.
The Bucks are back in action on Sunday when they take on the Phoenix Suns at 2:30 pm Central time. That’s a GSPN Playback game, so you can watch it live with us! Just send your proof of Substack subscription to Rohan or I on Twitter or to GyroStepPod@gmail.com.
