Bucks end the regular season with a loss to the Cavaliers
Even though the score was not pretty, the vibes were immaculate.
The Bucks Stock Market is a fictitious market run by the GSPN crew that tracks player stock “movement” following the conclusion of every game. Here’s the spreadsheet logging the game-by-game results.
In the last regular season game of the 2021-22 season, the Milwaukee Bucks did not play a normal rotation, to say the least. Giannis, Khris, Bobby, Brook, Grayson, Serge, and Luca were all out, Jrue played eight seconds to secure the bag, and Pat and Wes were active, but did not play. In summary, the only six players who played meaningful minutes were Jevon Carter, Lindell Wiggington, Jordan Nwora, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Sandro Mamukelashvili, and Rayjon Tucker. Couple that information with this being a game that the Cleveland Cavaliers desperately wanted to win and Kevin Love going super saiyan, it’s easy to see how the Bucks lost this game. Let’s talk movements!
Sandro Mamukelashvili📈
Full disclosure, I thought Mamu was close to being a push. Yes, I realize he had 28 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assists, but he was a turnstile on defense. However, given the context of this game, it would be unfair to hold that against him. Offensively, Mamu showed how he can score both inside and outside, as well as navigate space well and create for teammates.
Lindell Wiggington📈
Lindell has a solid outing, putting up 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 8 assists. What really impressed me was his playmaking ability. Wiggington recognized that once he used his speed to get into the lane, he could let his teammates feast on kick outs for open shots once the defense collapsed. Though it was not an overly efficient scoring night (46.7% from the fielding 33.3% from deep), Lindell made some tough shots in the fourth quarter and looked like he belonged on an NBA court.
Rayjon Tucker📈
Appearing in only his second game since joining the team, Rayjon Tucker made an immediate impact. He was a prolific scorer with the Wisconsin Herd, and that translated to the Bucks as he had 15 points on 2-4 shooting from two and a perfect 3-3 shooting from three. He also showed off his athletic ability with impressive rebounds and a put back jam, while also displaying how he’s worked on his all-around game, dishing out four assists.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo📈
Sure, Thanasis led the team in turnovers (5) and had some gaffes on both ends, but he led the team in heart and effort. Aside from intangibles, TA was second on the team in scoring with 27 on 64.3% shooting from the field, and even made his second three of the season (ninth of his career)! Thanasis operated well around the basket, and even showed off nifty footwork in the post.
As this is being written, the date/time/opponent for the Milwaukee Bucks’ next game is unknown, but it is known that GSPN will be providing you with tons of playoff content, including a podcast following every single game, plus series previews and breaking down news as it happens. This is also the closing bell for the Bucks Stock Market this season. Hopefully you have enjoyed following it as much as we have enjoyed curating it!
