Brewers wrap up the regular season by beating and eliminating the Chicago Cubs

The 2023 MLB regular season has come to a close. The Milwaukee Brewers finished with a 92-70 record, the NL Central crown, and a date with the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League Wild Card Series.

The final series of the season against the Chicago Cubs was meaningless for the Brewers, but they went out and won it anyway. Friday’s opener saw Hortonville’s own Caleb Boushley get the win in his MLB debut. Carlos Santana’s walk-off hit in the bottom of the 10th gave Milwaukee a 4-3 win.

The Brewers dropped Saturday’s game 10-6 after a tough start from Eric Lauer. They bounced back to grab a 4-0 win in the season finale. As I noted, next up is the National League Wild Card Series. The Diamondbacks come to Milwaukee for a best of three series starting on Tuesday. Let the battle commence.
