Brewers thrive in playoff-esque environment to take series win over the Phillies

We like series wins against playoff teams

The Milwaukee Brewers returned home to American Family Field this weekend, looking to bounce back from their series loss to the Chicago Cubs. It wasn’t a sweep, but we’ll call it mission accomplished.

The first two games ended with a score of 7-5 good guys. Freddy Peralta shined and the offense overcame some struggles from the bullpen. Alec Bohm also contributed to the cause and for that we say thank you.

Sunday’s finale ended as a 4-2 Phillies win, as Wade Miley allowed back to back solo homers in the 7th inning which erased a 2-1 Brewers lead. Milwaukee now holds a 3.5 game lead in the NL Central over the Cubs, with the Reds sitting at 6.5 games back.

The race is still very much on, but The Crew are clearly in the driver’s seat. Next up is three games in Pittsburgh against the Pirates.
