Brewers take Red Sox series with strong showing as the Cubs and Counsell lie in wait
This ain't no tea party.
NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: Sorry update this comes a day late. As we all know, the Brewers are currently in the midst of their series against the Chicago Cubs, but some technical difficulties led to a delay in being able to update the leaderboard for the Red Sox series.
The Milwaukee Brewers got the train back on the tracks over the weekend by taking two of three games in Boston against the Red Sox. Friday’s opener saw William Contreras destroy a fan’s popcorn bucket in the Green Monster seats, while the rest of the bats also were in a violent mood. The Crew piled up seven runs on 11 hits which led to a 7-2 win.
More fun was had on Saturday. This game was won thanks to a five-run 3rd inning that put Milwaukee in firm control of the game. All hits and runs in the inning came with two outs. Now that’s how you rally, fellas! The final score was 6-3 in favor of the Brewers.
A tight game on Saturday swung the way of the Red Sox. The Sox broke a 1-1 tie in the 8th after a Ceddane Rafaela double was followed by an RBI single from Jarren Duran. The Brewers fell 2-1 to finish the three city roadtrip with a 4-5 record.
Next up is three more games against Craig Counsell and his Chicago Cubs. The Crew had a lovely Memorial Day and started things off with a 5-1 win.
