Brewers take 1 of 3 against the Mets in up and down series
Missed opportunities keep the Brewers from winning the series.
Let’s start with the positives. Corbin Burnes looked like himself again and the Milwaukee Brewers scored 10 runs in Game 2 of the series against the New York Mets to help Craig Counsell secure his franchise record breaking 564th win as a manager.
The bad news is that was the only game of the series they’d win. The first game of the series was a 4-0 loss, and the third game of the series provided a a tense 5-4 loss.
I suffer through a solo podcast as Adam McGee continues his stint on the IL. Get well soon, buddy. We miss you!
Master Brewer Leaderboard (through 65 games)
(The Master Brewer Leaderboard is a season-long leaderboard tracking and ranking exceptional performances from Brewers players in the form of Master Brew Points 🍺, which at the end of the season will tally up to crown our Crewsing for a Brewsing Player of the Year.)
Corbin Burnes 🍺
Burnes returned to form against the Mets, giving the Brewers a much needed quality start. Burnes pitched six innings and allowed just a pair of runs with eight strikeouts. Corbin now has a 2.52 ERA and 100 strikeouts over 78.2 innings in the 2022 season.
Hunter Renfroe 🍺
Renfroe’s arm was the story of the series, as he recorded two outfield assists. He also reached base six times in the series, going 3-for-8 with three walks, one run, and one RBI across the three games.
Jace Peterson 🍺
Jace got on base and played great defense. What else is new. Peterson finished the series 3-for-8 with a walk, one run, and two RBI. Peterson’s ascent up the leaderboard is no small feat given his slow start to the season.
