Brewers sweep the White Sox to take largest division lead of the season so far
We love our brooms
We finally got the sweep we’ve been asking for. The Milwaukee Brewers went into Chicago and swept the White Sox to extend their lead in the NL Central to 3.5 games ahead of the Cubs and Reds.
On Friday Corbin Burnes struggled, but the bats were wide awake. A Mark Canha RBI double in the top of the 10th inning paved the way for Abner Uribe’s first career save in a 7-6 win.
Saturday saw another tightly contest game. The Crew won 3-2 thanks to Brandon Woodruff, the bullpen, and a three-run 7th inning with runs driven in by Tyrone Taylor and William Contreras.
Freddy Peralta and Carlos Santana played the heroes in Sunday’s finale. Milwaukee scored five runs of their seven runs in the 8th inning or later as they finished off the series sweep with a 7-3 victory.
