Brewers sweep the White Sox as Tommy Pham fights himself, plus what does Willy Adames’ future hold
Milwaukee owns Chicago.
The Milwaukee Brewers laid waste to the entire city of Chicago this week. After taking three of four games from the Chicago Cubs Monday through Thursday, the Brewers then welcomed the Chicago White Sox to town.
Friday’s series opener was an absolute beatdown. The Brewers racked up 23 hits in a 12-5 victory. Christian Yelich went 5-for-6, eight Brewers had multi-hit games, and you could argue that the final score flattered the White Sox.
Saturday was a little more tense, as the Brewers’ bats failed to fired until late in the game. Willy Adames’ bases loaded single tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the 7th and his RBI infield single in the bottom of the 10th won it for Milwaukee.
The Brewers overcame a rough first inning from Freddy Peralta and took hold of Sunday’s finale after a Jackson Chourio three-run homer in the bottom of the second inning. Some stellar relief work from Kevin Herget and Enoli Paredes followed to close down a 6-3 series sweeping win.
The Brewers will hit the road this week for three games against the Philadelphia Phillies followed by three games against the Detroit Tigers.
