Brewers sweep the Cardinals in St. Louis as strong start to the season continues
The Brewers broke out the brooms in St. Louis
The wins keep piling up for the Milwaukee Brewers. The road warriors rolled into St. Louis this weekend and left with a clean sweep. The Brewers bounced back from a blown save on Friday when a William Contreras 10th inning single and Hoby Milner’s first career save gave them a 2-1 win.
On Saturday the bats exploded for 12 runs in a 12-5 victory. Every Brewer recorded a hit with Sal Frelick, Rhys Hoskins, Gary Sanchez, Willy Adames, William Conteras, Blake Perkins, Jackson Chourio, and Brice Turang each having multi-hit games.
On Sunday, the baseball Gods were with the Brewers. Or Blake Perkins is a God. Either or. Perkins robbed Lars Nootbar of what would have been a three-run homer in the first inning, and that was the “get out of jail free” Monopoly card Colin Rea and the bullpen needed to keep piling up zeroes.
An Owen Miller single plated two Brewers in the top of the 7th which secured a 2-0 win and the sweep. Next up is four games in Pittsburgh against the Pirates.
