Brewers start road trip by splitting a two-game series with the Minnesota Twins
Some good, some bad, and some in between.
The Milwaukee Brewers needed a win coming off of back to back series losses against the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates. That would be no easy feat going into a road series against the first place Minnesota Twins.
The process was probably a little frustrating for Brewers fans, but the overall result is acceptable. A rain delay filled Game 1 saw Jason Alexander work his way out of trouble through the first four innings, before the Brewers bats came alive in the fifth to break a 2-2 deadlock. In the end the Brew Crew sealed the 6-3 with three Josh Hader strikeouts.
Wednesday’s day game would not go as planned. A 1-1 game in the bottom of the 9th inning would end on a three-run homer from Jose Miranda (off of Josh Hader), giving the Twins a 4-1 win.

Master Brewer Leaderboard (through 89 games)
(The Master Brewer Leaderboard is a season-long leaderboard tracking and ranking exceptional performances from Brewers players in the form of Master Brew Points 🍺, which at the end of the season will tally up to crown our Crewsing for a Brewsing Player of the Year.)
Devin Williams 🍺
This is what an All-Star looks like. With every additional scoreless outing Devin Willams’ omission from the All-Star Game looks more and more ridiculous. He’s one of the most fun to watch relief pitchers in baseball and his two scoreless innings against the Twins has extended his scoreless innings streak to 25.
Jace Peterson 🍺
Jace Peterson is back on the board after a good series with the bat and glove. Peterson played left field in Game 1 and wandered over to right field in Game 2, helping the Brewers deal with the loss of Christian Yelich. He finished the series 3-for-6 with a pair of walks, a homer, two runs scored, and two RBI.
Andrew McCutchen 🍺
Andrew McCutchen’s resurgence doesn’t appear to be a mirage. He was productive right from the start, getting the scoring started in the first inning of Tuesday’s game with a two-run homer. Overall for the series Cutch went 3-for-8 with two runs scored and two RBI. After a tough start to the year his OBP has climbed to a respectable .321, giving reason for continued optimism.
Trevor Gott 🍺
It had been a struggle for Trevor Gott since coming off the IL, but he appears to have righted the ship. Gott came into Game 2 with two on and one out in the top of the fifth inning. He’d proceed to strand those runners and add in another scoreless inning for good measure. Overall it was an excellent outing for Gott as he looks to string together consistency.
