Brewers split series with Rockies at Coors Field, trade for Aaron Civale

It was a week filled with ejections, fireworks, Colin Rea, Dallas Keuchel, a pair of All-Stars, and much more!

The Milwaukee Brewers faced their demons this week, splitting four games at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies may be having a terrible season, as has become an annual tradition, but visions of last season’s three-game sweep at Coors had to be tormenting the dreams of Brewers fans.

The Rockies took the series opener in extra innings thanks to a Jake Cave walk-off single. The Brewers bounced back with wins on both Tuesday and Wednesday, but the Rockies answered with a one-run victory in the July 4th finale.

There may not have been many fireworks, unless you count Pat Murphy and Willy Adames being ejected, but three one-run games was enough to make me happy to see The Crew leave town with a pair of wins under their belt.

Next up is an enticing matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Brewers currently find themselves one game back from the Dodgers for the second seed in the National League, so this series is an opportunity to announce their presence in that race with authority.
