Brewers return to winning ways by taking a series in Detroit
No second opinion needed, the Brewers won that series
The Milwaukee Brewers bounced back nicely from their sweep at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies by taking two of three games from the Detroit Tigers.
Friday’s series opening game featured an offensive barrage and the best start of the season by any Brewers starting pitcher. Who made the start? Well, Tobias Myers of course! Just like we drew it up in Spring Training. Myers tossed eight scoreless innings in Milwaukee’s dominant 10-0 win.
Saturday was a little more stressful for The Crew. They survived a rough start from Freddy Peralta thanks to some stellar work from the bullpen and Jackson Chourio’s two-run double that put them ahead for good. Trevor Megill’s scoreless 9th secured a 5-4 Brewers win.
Sunday was an absolute stinker. An eight-run 5th inning pushed the margin to 10-0 Detroit. The Brewers would scrape across a pair of runs as they played out the string, but the end result was a 10-2 Tigers win. Next up, the Brewers return home to face the Toronto Blue Jays.
