Brewers return post All-Star break as Chourio stars in two-game sweep of the Twins
Two wins in the Twin Cities
The Milwaukee Brewers started their post All-Star break schedule with a bang thanks to two exciting wins over the Minnesota Twins. Saturday’s series opener featured a return to form from Freddy Peralta.
Fastball Freddy tossed six scoreless innings and left with a 1-0 lead. Chaos ensued after his exit. The Brewers went ahead 3-1 in the top 11th inning, but old friend Carlos Santana’s two out homer tied things up in the bottom half of the inning. The win was secured for good after a five-run outburst in the top of the 12th. In the end, The Crew came away with the 8-4 win.
Sunday’s game featured even more fireworks. Jackson Chourio was the star of the the show, following a 3-for-5 day with a double, a homer, and some outstanding defensive play in left field. The back and forth affair ended with the Brewers on top 8-7.
Next up is the final series of the season against Craig Counsell’s Chicago Cubs. Will he lash out at any reporters? Time will tell.
