Brewers lose two of three in Toronto as series wins remain hard to come by
I thought Canada was supposed to be a friendly place
The Milwaukee Brewers lost another series to bring their record to 29-27 as they enter the month of June. The offense has continued to sputter, as a 4-2 win was sandwiched by 7-2 loss and a 3-1 loss.
Andruw Monasterio and Abraham Toro provided a few memorable moments and Julio Teheran put together another excellent start, but Kevin Gausman snuffed out any hope of a series win with a dominant performance in the series finale.
Onward the Brewers go into the cold dark night that is a baseball season. A four-game series against the red-hot (until a meltdown against the Boston Red Sox last night) Cincinnati Reds awaits them. Will a matchup against an NL Central foe be what they need to get back to their winning ways? Tune in next week to find out!

(The Master Brewer Leaderboard is a season-long leaderboard tracking and ranking exceptional performances from Brewers players in the form of Master Brew Points 🍺, which at the end of the season will tally up to crown our Crewsing for a Brewsing Player of the Year.)
Devin Williams 🍺
Devin Williams has been the best Brewer this season. That is likely not a controversial take. He doesn’t get to work often, but when he’s on the mound he does not disappoint. A scoreless 9th inning closed out Wednesday’s win, giving Williams nine saves and a 0.51 ERA.
Peter Strzelecki 🍺
A clean 8th inning from Peter Strzelecki was just what the doctor ordered on Wednesday. Could he be settling back into the reliable high leverage arm he was to start the season? We certainly hope so.
Julio Teheran 🍺
It’s been two starts with two beers for Julio Teheran. The Brewers can’t ask for much more from the veteran right-hander. He’s allowed just one earned runs in 11 innings with Milwaukee.
Andruw Monasterio 🍺
Welcome to the big leagues, Andruw Monasterio! Monasterio’s play was one of the few bright spots in Toronto. He finished the series 3-for-7 and his stat line could have looked even better if he wasn’t robbed of a hit by Kevin Kiermaier.
Abraham Toro 🍺
We have another first beer! Abraham Toro started Game 2 of this series at third base and he performed quite well at the plate. His second inning homer gave the Brewers an early lead they’d not relinquish.
Owen Miller🍺
It wasn’t the dominant series we’ve seen from Miller lately, but he continues to pile up hits. Miller had a hit in every game against the Blue Jays and finished the series 4-for-13 with a double, a run, and two RBI.
Joey Wiemer🍺
It’s been a tough rookie season in the batter’s box for Joey Wiemer, but this series was a positive one. Wiemer had a pair of doubles, a run, and a walk over three games and seemed to be putting together higher quality at-bats. Making adjustments isn’t easy, but it’s vital to overcoming early career struggles.
