Brewers disappoint in series loss to Rockies as lineup flounders
John Denver was really full of it, man.
The weekend was a little rocky for the Milwaukee Brewers against….well the Rockies. The Milwaukee bats fell silent for most of the weekend, as they dropped two of three games to the lowly Rockies. Not great, Bob!
Friday got off to a great start. Frankie Montas threw five hitless innings before a Michael Toglia three-run homer changed the game in the top of the 6th inning. The Crew only mustered a pair of runs in a 3-2 loss.
The Brewers bounced back Saturday thanks to a Tobias Myers gem and a better performance at the plate. Devin Williams closed things down in a dominant 9th inning, giving the good guys a 5-2 win.
Sunday saw the bats return to their slumber. A Rhys Hoskins RBI single gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but that was the only scoring they’d do. Freddy Peralta’s 5th inning went sideways, which led to Hoby Milner allowing a three-run homer to Sam Hilliard. That’s all Colorado would need to secure a 4-1 win.
It’s time to flush that series and move on. In an hour and change the Brewers will kickoff a series out west against the San Francisco Giants.
