Brewers continue to make light work of the Cardinals, Gasser delivers outstanding debut

The Milwaukee Brewers continued to assert their dominance over the St. Louis Cardinals this weekend by taking three of the four games played at American Family Field. Thursday saw the Milwaukee bats ruffle Sonny Gray’s feathers for the first time this season in a 7-1 win.

Friday night was the highlight of the series. Robert Gasser toed the rubber for his MLB debut and he did not disappoint. Gasser threw six shutout innings with four strikeouts and the bats piled on the runs in a 11-2 debut victory.

Saturday made it three wins in a row and a 6-0 start to the season against St. Louis. Rhys Hoskins’ dramatic 7th inning homer flipped the script on the Cardinals and led to a 5-3 comeback win for Milwaukee. The Cardinals salvaged Sunday with a comeback of their own, but this series was tilted towards the Brewers all weekend.

Next up is three games at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates before The Crew embark on a nine-game road trip.
