Balanced offense leads Pack in win versus Rams
Packers fly to Miami to keep streaking toward playoffs
The Packers are officially streaking again as the took down the Los Angeles Rams 24-12 in a Monday night matchup.
The team was SO close to putting together four complete quarters, but the offense wasn’t able to convert on multiple short fields provided by the defense and Keisean Nixon on special teams. The defense on the other hand let up a nice drive to Cam Akers and allowed a Tyler Higbee touchdown — the first tight end touchdown for the Rams all year.
The game got squirrely, but an 8:51 drive to end the game iced for the Pack.
And the following SEVEN players played a part in making that happen.
The Cheeseboard 🧀
Talk of the Tundra’s Cheeseboard is a season-long leaderboard tracking and ranking exceptional performances from Packers players in the form of cheeses 🧀, of which they are three: Muenster (🧀), pepper jack (🧀🧀) and an aged sharp cheddar (🧀🧀🧀). At the end of the season, we will recap the Cheeseboard and see who ends up being the team MVP.
Keisean Nixon 🧀🧀
Keisean Nixon has been a breath of fresh air on returns. This week he posted an absolutely insane — by Packers standards — 131 return yards and should’ve had more if it weren’t for a penalty. Aaron Rodgers summed it up the best when he said he hadn’t seen a Packers return man be kicked away from in his entire career. Rarified air for Keisean “K9” Nixon as he earns two cheese this week.
Aaron Jones 🧀
I feel like I’m running out of words to describe how good Aaron Jones this year when given the appropriate opportunities every game. Over 100 all-purpose-yards once again and scored another touchdown. This team goes as Aaron Jones and run game does and helping with that run game is…
AJ Dillon 🧀
AJ Dillon didn’t rack up the most yards this week, but he scored two touchdowns and came up big when needed in both facets of the offense. AJ Dillon is putting all together at the right time of the season and could be huge as the Packers continue their playoff push.
Quay Walker 🧀
The rookie has shown out this year and showed fans and the organization why he was worth the first round pick. Quay has been getting his nose into tackles and pass breakups all season long. Against the Rams he had four tackles, a sack and a pass break up while only allowing one catch in his 22 coverage snaps. He’ll be needed in a big way against the Dolphins this week.
Preston Smith 🧀
Preston Smith has done a great job this year picking up some of the slack from Rashan Gary going down including two more sacks this week of Baker Mayfield and totaling four QB hits.
Kenny Clark 🧀
Bouncing back from the worst stretch of his career arguably, Kenny Clark proved crucial in stopping the run game against the Rams. The Packers held Cam Akers in check for most of the game until Kenny Clark left the game and the Rams had their best drive of the game led by the run game. The team needs him to return to form and live in the backfield the rest of the way, but for his effort this week, he earns a cheese.
Devonte Wyatt 🧀
This cheese is more of a cumulative cheese for Devonte Wyatt’s play over the latest stretch of games in hopes that Joe Berry can insert him into the defensive rotation more often and let him develop in real time. According to Pro Football Focus’ rankings, in the last two games against the Bears and Rams, Wyatt was the top-graded defensive player and the second best graded player, albeit on 9 snaps each game, but that’s not nothing. He is showing out in his opportunities. He earned his first sack this week and I’m practically begging the team to play him over Dean Lowry and Tedarrell Slaton.

Packers vs. Dolphins Preview, score predictions
The Packers and Dolphins are on the opposite sides of the streaking spectrum. Packers need to win five straight to have a shot at making the playoffs and are 40% of the way there, while the Dolphins have lost their last three in a brutal road trip.
The Dolphins have been decimated by injuries lately as they have five crucial players in their secondary either out or on injured reserve as well as Emmanuel Ogbah.
Which opens the door of opportunity for the Packers offensive attack to be balanced once again with a big-play emphasis on the passing game. In most of the games the Packer have won this year, they’ve relied equally on passing and running the ball, rather than leaning on Rodgers arm to lead them to win games.
On the other side of the coin, however, is that Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are freaking studs and if Joe Berry doesn’t copy the game plan of the Niners, Chargers and Bills of pressing them at the line, the Packers could be in legitimate trouble down the field.
Not to mention Head Coach Mike McDaniel and Running Back Raheem Mostert — the duo responsible for the dismantling the 2019 Packers in the NFC Championship Game — could run all over the Packers once again.
This game has the potential to be a slobberknocker and I’m here for it.
